Trican’s corporate headquarters are located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada where strategic and organisational leadership is provided by the corporation’s executive management team. International operations are supported at the local business unit level by in-country leaders.
Mr. Cobbe has been a director of Trican since September 20, 1996 and Chairman since January 1, 2012. From August 1, 2009 until December 31, 2011, he served as Executive Chairman. Prior to that date, he was President and Chief Executive Officer of Trican, positions that he held since September 1996. Mr. Cobbe has been in the well services business since 1974, and has overseen operations in Canada, Europe, the Middle East and the United States. Mr. Cobbe graduated from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology in 1970 with a Diploma in Petroleum Engineering (Reservoir). In addition, Mr. Cobbe is past Director and Chairman of the Petroleum Services Association of Canada (PSAC), which is an association of Canadian oilfield service, supply, and manufacturing companies. Mr. Cobbe currently serves as a director Bellatrix Exploration Ltd. (an exploration and production company), and is lead director of Secure Energy Services Ltd. (a publicly traded energy services company).
Mr. Dusterhoft joined Trican at its inception in 1996 and is President and Chief Executive Officer, and a Director. Prior to becoming CEO of Trican, Mr. Dusterhoft was the Company’s Senior Vice President of Technical Services. Before joining Trican, Mr. Dusterhoft worked for 12 years with a major Canadian pressure pumping company where he held management positions in Operations, Sales and Engineering. Mr. Dusterhoft graduated from the University of Calgary in 1984 with a degree in Chemical Engineering. He serves on the Board of the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation, the Calgary Petroleum Club, and Keane Group, a privately-held U.S.-based well completion services company. Mr. Dusterhoft is a past Chairman of the Canadian Executive Oilmen’s Association, past President of the Canadian Association of Drilling Engineers, past President of the Canadian Section of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and a past member of the Industry Advisory Board of the Schulich School of Engineering at the University of Calgary.
As Executive Vice President, Mr. Baldwin is responsible for leading the Corporation's Operations, Human Resources, Information Technology/Information Systems, Supply Chain, Organizational Efficiency, and Corporate Development teams. Mr. Baldwin joined Trican in October 1997 as Controller and subsequently served in various positions within Trican’s finance department. More recently, Mr. Baldwin held the positions of Senior Vice President, Corporate Development and of Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Baldwin was the Chief Financial Officer of Pure Energy Services Ltd. from June 2005 to November 2008, after which he rejoined Trican. Mr. Baldwin has a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Alberta and is a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Alberta and Canada.
Mr. Cox is Senior Vice President, Operations for Trican. He is responsible for the oversight of pressure pumping operations, industrial services, water management services, technical services, infrastructure and facilities, as well as health, safety and environment for the company. Previously, Mr. Cox was the Vice President, Canadian Geographic Region, where he managed all aspects of operations within Trican Canada. He has been with Trican since 2000, holding the positions of General Manager of the Canadian Geographic Region, Manager of Technical Services, Product Development Manager, and Coiled Tubing Specialist. Prior to joining Trican, Mr. Cox worked with the Alberta Provincial Government in various reservoir engineering, production engineering, and management roles. His history also includes working with Canadian Fracmaster in underbalanced directional drilling with coiled tubing, and Husky Oil as a drilling engineer. Rob is a graduate of the University of Calgary in Mechanical Engineering.
As Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Skilnick is responsible for Trican's Accounting, Finance, Treasury and Corporate Reporting functions and for supporting Investor Relations activities. Mr. Skilnick joined Canyon in January 2016 as Vice President and Controller and transitioned to Trican as Vice President, Finance on June 2, 2017 with the acquisition. Prior to joining Canyon, Mr. Skilnick worked at CanElson Drilling Inc., a North American focused drilling services contractor from 2009 until the time of its sale in 2015, serving as the company’s Chief Financial Officer from 2010 until its sale. Prior thereto, he was Corporate Controller for an international exploration and production company and also worked at KPMG for eight years in the audit practice. Mr. Skilnick holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Saskatchewan, obtained his Chartered Accountant designation in 2002, and is a member of both the Chartered Professional Accountants of Alberta and Canada.
Dr. Chika Onwuekwe returned to Trican in March 2017 as the Vice President, Legal, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary. Dr. Onwuekwe initially joined Trican in 2010 as Legal Counsel. Upon promotion to Senior Legal Counsel in July 2012, Dr. Onwuekwe’s key responsibilities included international business transactions, commercial negotiations and intellectual property. Dr. Onwuekwe left in December 2015 to serve as the first General Counsel at PTW Energy Services Ltd. Prior to joining Trican initially in 2010, Dr. Onwuekwe articled and subsequently practiced with Norton Rose Canada (formerly Macleod Dixon LLP) and MacPherson Leslie Tyerman LLP (now MLT Aikins) in Calgary. Dr. Onwuekwe was formerly an Assistant Professor of Law and Society at the University of Calgary, an Adjunct Professor of Business Law at LBS Pan African University, Lagos, Nigeria, Experienced Senior at KPMG International (Tax & Business Regulatory Division) Lagos office and a Consultant to both Justice Canada and Health Canada. Dr. Onwuekwe is a registered Canadian Trademark Agent, a member of the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada (IPIC), the Canadian Bar Association and the Law Society of Alberta. Dr. Onwuekwe obtained a Bachelor of Laws Degree (LL.B) in Nigeria, was called to the Nigerian Bar, and received an LL.M and Ph.D (inter-disciplinary) from the University of Saskatchewan. Dr. Onwuekwe volunteers with the Law Society of Alberta, the Association of Corporate Council (ACC) and African communities in Alberta.
Ms. Sweany was appointed Vice President, Human Resources in November 2017 and is responsible for all aspects of Trican’s Human Resource functions. Ms. Sweany has worked with Trican since 2011 in various HR positions, most recently as Senior Director. Prior to joining Trican, Ms. Sweany worked with Sanjel Corporation managing all aspects of the Human Resource functions for their International operations. Ms. Sweany holds a Bachelor of Management degree and is currently pursuing her Executive MBA through Queen’s University.
As Vice President, Pipeline and Industrial Services, Mr. Kelly is responsible for the financial, operational and safety performance of Trican Pipeline and Industrial Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Trican Well Service Ltd. Prior to joining Trican, Mr. Kelly has over 20 years of Energy Industry experience and a successful track record of leading multi-million dollar businesses within General Electric. At General Electric, Mr. Kelly’s career spanned geographies including Canada, USA, Mexico, Latin America, Asia, Europe and the Middle East. He has held increasingly significant roles including Engineering, Field Services, Customer Service, Quality Assurance, Six Sigma, Operations, Sales, and Executive Leadership, where he culminated his career as the President of GE Oil & Gas Canada Inc. Mr. Kelly continues to be an active member of the Zone Startups Calgary mentorship program, is a registered Professional Engineer in Alberta, Canada, and a member of the Canadian Energy Executive.
